Servers?

Hey guys I guess I've started playing pretty regularly scoping out the game area and such I was really getting into it but the past couple days I havn't been able to connect when I login it says the authentication servers are down. I know what this means but why would they decide to shut down the servers now without warning.

Please don't assume you know what the deal is when you have no idea. I'm sure if he were to shut the server down, he would of gave a warning.
