How do I make a character?

So, as I'm new around these parts, I opened up the game like usual and tried to make my character there.

I named her and was waiting to get 'locked onto', but it just...never ended, and the game froze eventually.

I went back here, obviously, and did a little more reading, and I read something about having to make a character on my profile?

I attempted that, but nothing happened. Nothing saved.

Could someone please walk me through character creation? I wouldn't mind wandering around MegaCity just for kicks again.

I've already read through the FAQ, and maybe I'm just not seeing it somehow, but I go to my userpage and click 'Create New Character'. I fill out the fields (Handle, First Name, Last Name, Gender, Org) and click 'Create', but nothing happens, no response. I don't see anywhere to input my character clothing or appearance.

Like I said, I'm sorry if I'm somehow just being dense, but I can't see any options.

That's the only character creation I'm seeing. However, I can go to other people's profiles and click their character names, and lo and behold, a page with selectable info comes up!

Sadly, I can't do anything with it, since it's not my character.

Once you fill out the character info, you should see a screen like this:



There, you can click on the character's handle to access customization where you can select clothing and etc. If you're not seeing it, then perhaps the character was not created.

Turns out I'm an idiot and had my AdBlock enabled.
